Ashka Patel is studying for a master's degree in computer science at the University of Southern California. She has a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from India. Inspired by her father, Ashka started her dream of data science and continued her research in the United States. This week, Ashka will share how she applied to the University of Southern California in India, prepared for her application, and transitioned to a new country to study abroad.

This week, we had a wonderful conversation with Ashka and hoped to learn more about the challenges of her education.
Challenge 1 - Apply to USC
You need to apply for the GRE and English exams for your English proficiency. So come up before coming here (United States), we need to prepare for two exams, and GRE is most for the MS program.
Challenge 2 - Culture different
You have shifted to an entirely different country where things work differently, and you need to manage everything on your own along with studies and for being transportations and the course work.
Challenge 3 - Social groups and support
Various social groups in India where people can help you through the application process include preparing for paperwork and exams. Besides, you can find housing near the university in Facebook and WhatsApp groups
